About
Thomastown Cello offers cello lessons for adults and children aged 8+, with a focus on making music an enjoyable and personal journey. Every lesson is one-to-one, giving students the space to learn at their own pace, explore their musical interests, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
All classes are led by Jane Pearson, who has been learning music since the age of 5. Jane holds an Honours Degree in Music from NUI Maynooth and has completed all Royal Irish Academy of Music grades up to Associate level. Alongside teaching, she has over 10 years of orchestral experience, performing in Berlin, Prague, and across Ireland, as well as providing music for television commercials, and feature documentaries. Most recently, Jane’s playing has featured in the short films Screecher’s Reach and Ériu — both created by the Oscar-nominated animation studio Cartoon Saloon — as well collaborating with The Acorn Project on their initiatives Waking the Seeds and Leave the Long Grass Grow.
At Thomastown Cello, we believe music should be something you look forward to — a space to express yourself, grow your skills, and most importantly, enjoy the journey.
